Robert Louis Trout THE AVIATOR

Robert L. Trout: An aviation legend, spending over 63 years as a qualified pilot, instructor, consultant and amassing over 16'000 flight hours. Qualified in most light single and multiengine airplanes, helicopters, Flight Instructor, Air Traffic Control (Tower, GCA, RAPCON) specialist, typed rated in DC-9, BAe-146, AVr-146, M- 404, M-202, DC-3, F-27, DH-4, BE-1900, DO-228, FO-5 and federal qualified in the DH -4 and T-33.

 

As a retired USAF ATC and US Army CWO 2 Aviator, he served in the Korean conflict in 1953 – 1954, the Dominican Republic conflict in 1965 and Viet Nam in 1966. He served 9 years in the Nevada National Guard as a Tank Commander, Mortar Platoon SGT and First SGT, retiring with his active duty rank as a CWO-2. He also served in the FAA as an Operations Inspector, retiring in the grade of G-14, Supervisor.

 

Along with his Guard and FAA time, in September, 1981, he joined the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, as a reserve officer. There he served in patrol, traffic, vice and air support, retiring in February, 2002. As a civilian pilot he ferried Cessna multiengine, Beech single and multiengine, De Havilland DH-4 to Africa, Australia, Thailand, Viet Nam and within the USA. A few well known people that he has flown: General Westmorland (Viet Nam), Audie Murphy (Highest Decorated Soldier in WW 2 and Movie Star), Gene Fullmer, (Middleweight Boxer),Chuck Connors (Pro Basketball and Movie Star), Paul Fisher (Inventor of the Space Pen), Paul Harvey (Radio News Man), Craig Breedlove (Land Speed Record) and Anatoli Soloviov (Russian Cosmonaut). He spent event time with Buzz Aldrin and Mike Mullane (Astronauts). He received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award on July 10, 2010.
